Safety & Beating Boredum

Safety First
Before painting on any children, take a look at their skin. If they have any open sores or cuts do not paint their face. Instead offer to paint their shoulder, arm or offer a temporary tattoo as an alternative.

Beating Boredom
Standing in line waiting your turn is no fun for children, especially the younger set. To avoid boredum/frustration, get the children to write their names on pieces of paper. Then each child should fold their paper and place it into a hat. Tell them that when their name is called they will come up to take their turn. Allow them the opportunity to watch others being painted, but have alternative activities ready for those who are waiting their turn.

The Big Clean up.
Be sure to read the instructions on whatever face paint you use. Here's where you'll find the right way of removing paint from skin. You'll normally find that mild soap and water will clean the face paint straight off without too much fuss. Gentle baby wipes should remove a fresh design if you or the child is not happy with the result so that you can start over. If the child leaves happily with their design on their face, simply inform the parent how to remove the face paint.

Among the various kids face painting ideas, some common and easy to do designs that can be created include stars, flag, flowers, ladybugs, balloons and fairies. Lots of children like to have scary face painting designs and so skeleton and witch designs are also famous among children.
